音楽アワード「NU Rock Awards」
フィリピンのロック音楽アワード「NU Rock Awards」
メトロ・マニラのロック専門のFM放送局「NU107 Rock」が1994年から主催している音楽アワードです。 フィリピンのロックに焦点を合わせており、FM放送「NU107 Rock」リスナーからの投票、および フィリピンの音楽関係者によって各カテゴリーの優勝者が決まります。
当初は8部門からなり、その後、カテゴリーが増えています。思い起こせば1990年代の フィリピンの音楽シーンは、空前のバンド・ブーム。その中で、フィリピンのロックに 焦点を合わせたFM放送局「NU107 Rock」の果たした役割も大きかったといえます。
1990年代、フィリピンのロックやインディーズに強い関心を持ちはじめた当初は、 この「NU Rock Awards」の受賞者リストのCDから買い集めものです。 初期のリストを見ると、とても懐かしいものがあります･･････。しかしながら、 2010年11月に「NU 107」は閉局となり、現在は「107.5 Win Radio」が放送されています。
